Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The south ore zone consists of a series of pillowed andesites cut by feldspar porphyry dikes and silicified and mineralized zones. Immediately to the north lies a series of sheared and altered serpentinite. The serpentinite includes zones of sheared, brecciated and partially serpentinized acid to mafic metavolcanic rocks. Lying between the the serpentinite and a series of thin-bedded tuffs is a belt of highly carbonatized and chloritized volcanic rocks known as the north ore zone. The north ore zone includes numerous zones of green carbonate alteration. This whole squence of altered rocks is cut by irregular, broken adn twisted quartz veins and stringers.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Grades from the 500-level averaged 1.50 oz/t Au over 7 ft based on 1964 sampling results. Resampling of the 710E No. 1 stope by Kenilworth, retuned values up to 1.26 oz/t Au over 2 ft.

Notes: Prior to the discovery of the North Vein or Green Carbonate ore in 1938, development and stoping operations were confined to the South Ore Bodies. Early in 1939, all stoping stopped on the South Ore Bodies and only green carbonate ore was sent to the mill.
