Sep 06, 2012 (A Wilson) - Three individual flows were identified in mapping of the underground workings. To the south, the rocks consist of green-carbonate pillow volcanics (intermediate). The middle unit consists of ankeritized pillow volcanics and the northermost unit conists of highly carbonaitzed, sericited schist. The flows are cut by narrow dikes of quartz-plagioclase porphyry. Gold is associated with flat quartz veinswithin the carbonatized pillows and near the contact with the green carbonate flow. Gold is also associated with lenticualr veins in the interflow tuff beds and within the silicified, carbonatized and tormalinized quartz porphyry dikes. The entire northern portion of the property is underlain by greywacke and slate belonging to the Porcupine Group. Occasional pyritized graphitic zones occur within the slate beds but otherwise these rocks are unmineralized. Along the southern unconformable contact between the younger Porcupine and older Tisdale Groups there is reportedly a pyritized graphitic zone reflecting the unconformity and buff-coloured, very fine-grained, carbonate-rich metasedimentary rocks occur immediately beneath the unconformity. These rocks have occasional carbonaceous partings and appear conformable with the hydrothermal alteration at the DeSantis Mine site. Volcanic rocks of intermediate composition, including: pillows, bombs, lapilli and amygdaloidal flows, underlie most of the southern part of the Property. These rocks are reportedly massive and light to medium green in colour. Mafic volcanics, probably massive flows, pillow lavas and tuffs, apparently conformably underlie the intermediate volcanics towards the southern property boundary. These rocks are dark green, chloritic and carbonate altered. Ultramafic rocks occur immediately south of the Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone along the southern property boundary.

Sep 06, 2012 (A Wilson) - All volcanic and sedimentary rocks underlying the property have been metamorphosed to generally subgreenschist to greenschist facies. Regionally the metamorphic grade may reach amphibolite facies near the margins of larger intrusions. Mineral alteration assemblages include: chlorite, sericite, carbonate, albite, quartz, tourmaline and iron-oxides. Bradshaw describes a zone of hydrothermal alteration up to 46 m wide spatially associated with the known gold-bearing mineralization. It is reportedly quite massive and siliceous with quartz and quartzcarbonate veinlets and stringers, hosting concentrations of pyrite (up to 10% of rock volume) and often has associated tourmaline (up to 30%). Intensely tourmalinized zones are associated with narrow zones of ‘tiny’ vugs. Where the host rocks are massive, silicified and barren of mineralization they appear aplitic and were called ‘albitite’ by previous workers.
