Exploration History

1921 - Peter MacLaren writes in a report discussing Claims P8193 and P8196 in Deloro Townsip... Big Dyke - This is the name given to the broad band or mineral zone running east and west on the two claims....It weathers dark brown with quartz streaks......The brown colour being iron pyrites. 1940 - Dictore Porcupine Gold Mines Limited collared diamond drill Hole No. 5 near the south boundary of then claim 8193 ( later known as H.R. 858, P. Map 842 by H.D. Carson) on April 23, 1940. 1974 - P. Boudreau completed a manual trenching program near the location of Dictore Hole No. 5. 1984 - Noranda Exploration Company, Limited completed mag and VLF surveys on claims covering the occurrence. 1988 - Kingswood Exploration Limited completed geological mapping, a mag survey and stripping. 1992 - 1994 - Exsics Exploration and 944389 Ontario Inc. (Ruby Resources) conducted a program of geological mapping, trenching, sampling, mag., VLF and IP on the Lynx Property. Trench number 3 appears to be in the same location as an outcroup just to the E of Dictore Hole No. 5.

Geology Comments

May 12, 2008 (G Seim) - Dictore Porcupine Gold Mines Limited collared diamond drill Hole No. 5 near the south boundary of then claim 8193 ( later known as H.R. 858, P. Map 842 by H.D. Carson) on April 23, 1940. The hole was apparently drilled from W to E at -45 degrees. The hole entered into andesite at 77 ft. At 170 to 175 ft., a vein containing porphyry, quartz and andesite and mineralized with pyrite and probably chalcopyrite was encountered. Quartz porphyry was intersected from 175. to 209 ft. The last 10 ft. of the porphyry was said to be sheared. From 209 ft. to 413 ft. the hole encounted silicified, hard and mineralized andesite. At 413 ft. to 416 ft. the rock is described as hard mineralized black lava. Hard schisted andesite continued to a depth of 434 ft. Gold assays ($4.20 over 3 ft. and $4.55 over 6 ft.) reported from the last 2 units. From 434 ft. to 716 ft. coarse quartz porphyry was interesected. Mineralization is noted in the porphyry between 453 ft. and 716 ft. Many samples were taken and reported between trace and $7.70 over 5 ft. 716.5 ft to 725 ft. was described as a contact zone. Below 725 ft. to the end of the hole at 752 ft. was described as mineralized silicified lava. The interval from 730 ft. to 735 ft. (5 feet) was reported to grade $14.85. The interval from 680 ft. to the end of the hole (72 ft.) was reported to average $2.52. A note on the drill log indicated that re-assay of the core gave all trace. However, a Sylvanite drill hole section for the same hole indicate significant gold values, but different than those reported by Dictore.
