Dec 07, 2005 (G Seim) - From B. S. W. Buffam, Aug. 7, 1937 The No. 1 Zone consists of a band of siliceous iron formation extending N. 65 @ from approxomately the point of intersection of the diorite or diabase dyke with the altered, serpentinized diorite on claim 9756, westwards fro a distance of appoximately 1000 ft. On the 15 drill hole done along the strike of the zone, 11 hole cut the zone and 2 holes Nos. 7 and 9 -- 2 and 24 st the eastern and werstern ends did not intersect it. In addtion to the 15 holes drilled across the strike, 2 holes were drilled in the iron formation down the dip. Only a few small outcrops of the mineralized iron formation are exposed near the eastern end of the zone, An attempt was made to strip the central portion of the zone in order to bulk sample it but bedrock had not been reached by the end of July. The zone consist of a siliceous ironformation shattered and locally mineralized with pyrite and pyrrhotite. Near the contacts with the andesites, considerable chlorite and massive pyrrhotite is frequently present. The gold values as not uniformly distribute along any one particular horizon in the altered and mineralized iron formation.

Gold quoted at $35 per ounce.

Geologist: G Seim
Notes: A visit was made to this prospect on July 30, 2003 by Glenn Seim and Nicholas Campbell. Prominent outcrops believed to contain the Diorite Zone were located to the North of the No. 1 zone. The diorite is massive and cut by 2 of more narrow 5 to 10 cm thick quartz veins. An alteration extends into the diorite up to 20 cm eiter side of the veins. The outcrop surface is lichen covered and the vein and altetaion not conducive to sampling. To the south of the Diorite Zone about 90 m an outcrop of carbonitized mafic volcanic (UTM 17, 476682E/5359368N) and an outcrop of iron formation (UTM 476674E/53595358N) were found. The mafic volcanic exhibits no primary feature but contains a 318/65SW cleavage. Bedding in the iron formation measured 318/80SW. The chert layers of the iron formation are 60% jasperoidal, 40% white chert . The iron formation is brecciated by cherty, white quartz veins. Sulphides are not abundant but are locally present. ( pyrite ) These outcrops are low mounds (less than 1 m high) in a balck spruce swamp. The outcrops are believed to be in the area of Dayton Hole 15. A search for other oucrops was not fruitful. A grid, aproximately 10 to 15 years old, was noted on the property. There was propbably more recent exploration of the property than the information in the assessment files.
