Point Location Description: Hanna Mining Company sample site 6035 in T-3840

Location Method: Based on Assessment

Access Description: Take Pine St. south from timmins to the bush trail that crossed the Dayton Porcupine patents about 1 km south of Meadow Lake. Hanna Mining report states that the sample site is 3400 ft. W on bush road on Dayton Porc. cls. and 75 ft. N. of road, an outcrop about 200 ft. long in a NW direction and 50 ft. wide.



Exploration History

In 1927, Hanna Mining Company under took a regional lithogeochemisty program that sample ultramafic rocks through out the Timmins District. Sample 6035 returned 115 ppm Cu, 3300 ppm Ni (total) and 39.8 wt % MgO. The nickel sulphide assay was 1000 ppm while the sulphur assay was 800 ppm. The sample consisted of 1 inch pieces picked fro 5 spots irregularyl spaced about the outcrop.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Seim) - Slighty rusty weathering to fresh rock is chielfy yellowish green serpentinite with a waxy lustre. There are fairly numerous veinlets of chrysotile fibre. about 1/32 to 1/16 inch wide. Some tiny grains of magnetite some which are distributed along the centre of the chrysotile veinlet. In places there are tiny specks of pyrite.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Seim) - Sample 6035 returned 115 ppm Cu, 3300 ppm Ni (total) and 39.8 wt % MgO. The nickel sulphide (S2-Ni) assay was 1000 ppm while the sulphur assay was 800 ppm. Sample 6096 returned 30 ppm Cu, 3300 ppm Ni, 1260 ppm S2-Ni, 630 ppm S. Sample 6097 returned 116 ppm Cu, 6400 ppm Ni, 2700 ppm S2-Ni, 1320 ppm S.
