Access Description: Unknown.
Burrows (1911), presents the earliest record of prospecting in this general location; a small-scale map of Denton Tp. showing mining claims to the south of Godin Lake. Harding and Berry (1938) wrote that Thomas Dodds had re-staked part of the Godin Lake group and that stripping, and trenching had uncovered several small quartz-carbonate-pyrite veins in narrow, northeast striking shear zones with in the greenstones. They reported the greenstones to strike N. 30 E. and dip steeply to the NW. Nelson Hogg, an Ontario Dept. of Mines Resident Geologist, visited the area in 1946 at the request of Mr. A. Phillips of Timmins who had several claims in the Gordon Lake are in southwest Denton Tp. Hogg mapped the workings and reported gold values up to *0.03 oz. in gold* could be obtained in most pits and trenches. The best assay that was reported by Hogg was *0.07 oz.* over 14 inches that was from a bluish, silicified material carrying finely disseminated pyrite. 1987-1990 Keefer Lake Resources held claims covering the occurrence and completed geological mapping, geophysical surveys and diamond drilling.
