Lithology Comments

Dec 08, 2015 (A Wilson) - At hole 87-71, the uppermost package extends to a depth of 27.4 m and is associated with ice which advanced toward 170º azimuth. The stratigraphy of this package is varved clay and silt, deposited in proglacial lakes Barlow and Ojibway, overlying two units of subglacial till separated by sand. The "middle" glacial package includes all sediments between 27.4 m and 36.3 m. At the top of this package is a unit of varved clay and silt. These glaciolacustrine sediments are dense, having been overconsolidated by the overriding ice associated with the upper glacial package. The 5.8 m thick till unit beneath the clay and silt was subglacially deposited. Field work associated with drilling indicated ice from which till of this package was deposited advanced toward 240º azimuth. The stratigraphy of the "lowest" package is varved clay and silt overlying till. The till was subglacially deposited, probably by the lodgement process. This till can be correlated across all seven holes in the immediate area by its distinct chemistry versus till units of the overlying glacial packages.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 08, 2015 (A Wilson) - The following chemical values were noted. Four samples (04, 11, 13, 15) have greater than 1000 ppb Au in the "H" fraction. For sample 15, the "H" fraction Au value reported from the laboratory is H,200,000 ppb. Six small to medium sized gold grains were recovered from this sample. Thirteen gold grains, including a large 275 x 675 microns grain, were recovered from sample 13 which has an "H" fraction Au value of 9000 ppb. In the "H" fraction, sample 15 has elevated or anomalous values for As, Sb, Mo, Ag, Cu, Ni and Cr. Other elevated and anomalous "H" fraction values are Cu for sample 14 and 16, Pb and Ni for sample 16, and Cr for samples 01, 12 and 13. There are many elevated and anomalous Cu and Zn values in both the "G" and "T" fractions.
