Access Description: A point 4.25 km north and 0.50 km east of the southwest corner of Guibord Township. The Berrigan occurrence is located within the north half of lot 12, concession 3, Hislop Township.

Geology Comments

Apr 11, 2016 (C Salo) - The Berrigan occurrence is located within the north half of lot 12, concession 3, Hislop Township. Bedrock here is largely glacial drift covered, poorly exposed, and bedrock exposures are essentially confined to the southwest quarter of the north half of lot 12, concession 3. According to Prest, bedrock exposures consist of massive intermediate volcanic rock and reddish weathering white feldspar phyric rock. A pyritic shear with unspecified orientation is reported by Prest to be developed in the volcanic rocks and to be pitted, but no assays from these pits are reported by him. Jensen, Jensen and Baker, Johnstone and Steele, Johnstone and Trowell, and Troop indicate that the volcanic rocks are weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies), belong to the (Archean) Stoughton- Roquemaure Group, and are east southeast striking, steeply dipping, and south facing. The area is also indicated by these authors to be spatially associated with the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone. The Hollinger Consolidated Gold Mines diamond drilling outlined an east striking lenticular body of pink to purple syenite which is locally porphyritic and which intrudes intermediate, felsic, and pyroclastic volcanic rocks.

Lithology Comments

Apr 11, 2016 (A Wilson) - The 80 zone is located in the footwall of the syenite. It is the only zone in the shaft area which is primarily hosted by syenite. Some of the significant intersections in drill holes GK-25 and 39 are partly 1n the silicified carbonate breccia. The intersection in drill hole GK-17 1s entirely in silicified breccia. The zone 1s partly open at depth and open to the west. The Shaft/80 Zone is located in the vicinity of the shaft in carbonate breccia and in the syenite near the syenite/carbonate breccia contact. The zone has been intersected by several drill holes and has been drifted on in all four levels of the underground workings.

Mineralization Comments

Apr 11, 2016 (A Wilson) - Assays from the diamond drilling ranged from 0.377 oz/t Au over 6.4 ft. to 0.134 oz/t Au over 10 ft. There are two assays of interest on the Guibord property shown in the holes drilled by Hollinger. Drill hole # 1066, depth 748-750 ft. @ 0.31 oz. Drill Hole 1071, depth 150'-155.5 @ 0.17 oz.


Apr 11, 2016 (C Salo) - Reports in the assessment files, Resident Geologist's Office, Kirkland Lake, indicate that Hollinger Consolidated Gold Mines diamond drill hole no. 1025 yielded a 24 foot core length which averaged 0.02 ounce of gold per ton and that drill hole no.1034 yielded a 6 foot core section which averaged 0.10 ounce of gold per ton.
