Province: Superior

Subprovince: Abitibi

Terrane: Wawa-Abitibi

Belt: Abitibi

Geological Age: Archean

Geology Comments

Dec 11, 2012 (Nazha Sabiri) - General geology of the area is Neoarchean mafic metavolcanic rocks and metamorphosed alkalic felsic and intermediate intrusive rocks. The property is about 4.5 miles south of the Destor Porcupine Fault, about 2.5 miles south from the Arrow Fault and about 1.5 miles southwest from the Hislop Fault.

Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Mafic lava flow-unsubdivided 1 Medium Coarse Grained Host
Intermediate Tuff 2 Andesite Tuffaceous Near
Vein 3 Quartz Host
Intermediate lava flow-unsubdivided 3 Dacite Fine Grained, Brecciated Host
Breccia-unsubdivided 4 Brecciated Near

Lithology Comments

Dec 11, 2012 (Nazha Sabiri) - Chiefly massive and pillowed mafic metavolcanic units and a north-south striking diabase dike in the northern part of the claim group. The rock units are generally cut by breccia or veins and locally fractured. The breccia and the veins are filled with quartz, carbonate, quartz-carbonate and in some cases with quartz-carbonate-epidote- hematite. Fractures are vuggy, leached and rusty with considerable red hematite. The unit varies from non-magnetic to magnetic and from non-carbonatized section to strongly carbonatized one.

Mineralization Comments

Apr 07, 2016 (A Wilson) - One assay of 0.06 oz. Au/ton in a grab sample of dacite was not supported by subsequent split samples.

Dec 11, 2012 (Nazha Sabiri) - The pyrite is present as blebs, specks and angular fragment. The pyrite varies from traces to between 2-3% and 5-7 % in general.
