Access Description: Point Located: A point 3.63 km north and 0.44 km east of the southwest corner of Guibord Township.
1941: Hollinger Consolidated Gold Mines Ltd. diamond drilled 4 holes totalling 3,971 feet on the Ross claims (the south half of lot 12, concession III, Guibord Township). This drilling yielded numerous anomalously auriferous (averaging greater than 0.01 ounce of gold per ton) core intersections, including 0.31 ounce of gold per ton over a 2 foot core length, 0.17 ounce of gold per ton over a 5 foot core length, and 0.07 ounce of gold per ton over a 15 foot core length. 1949: Edross Consolidated Mines Ltd. controlled the south half of lot 12, concession III, Guibord Township and completed a magnetic survey. A single 583.5 foot diamond drill hole (no. G-1) may have been drilled by Edross Consolidated Mines at about this time. 1959: By this time, Edross Consolidated Mines had diamond drilled at least 1 hole totalling 583.5 feet (The Northern Miner, July 23, 1959). 1979: G.E. Parsons (of Toronto) staked the north half of lot 12, concession III, Guibord Township. 1980- 1981: Armco Minerals Exploration Ltd. completed magnetic, VLF electromagnetic, and geological surveys. 1982: G.E. Parsons completed a magnetic survey.

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - Bedrock in the area consists mainly of east SE striking and steeply dipping weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) volc. rxs and interc. clastic sed. near their contact with (Archean) Porcupine Gp or(Archean) Timiskaming Gp (meta)sediments. The area is compl. covered with complex glacial depos. and has been interp. to occur both S of (Prest 1953) and within (Jensen 1985, Jensen and Baker 1986) the (locally) E SE striking(PDFZ). Rxs S of the PDFZ are uniformly E SE striking, steeply S dipping, and S facing (metamorphosed) komatiitic to tholeiitic volc. rxs of the (Archean) Stoughton-Roquemaure and Kinojevis Gps. Stoughton-Roquemaure and Kinojevis Gp rxs S of the PDFZ occupy part of the north limb of the Blake River Synclinorium. Intrus. rxs in the area include irreg. shaped mafic to ultramafic and felsic bodies which are spatially assoc. with the interp. trace of the PDFZ. Narrow (tens of in width) north striking diabase dikes of the (Proterozoic) Matachewan swarm (Heaman 1989) intrude both supracrustal and intrus. basement rxs in the Hislop-Guibord Twp area (Prest 1957, 1953; Jensen 1989, 1985). Jensen (1985) interp. most of the basement volc. rxs in the area to consist of (metamorphosed) tholeiitic mafic to felsic volc. rxs within and/or marginal to the PDFZ. Because outcrop in the area is scarce and stratigraphic continuity with (Kinojevis Gp) tholeiitic rxs located farther S cannot be establ., Jensen's (1985) interp. that these rxs are part of the Kinojevis Gp must be considered to be tentative. This is so because tholeiitic volcanic rxs also occur within the (older)Stoughton-Roquemaure Gp and: a) tectonic blocks of rxs belonging to both the Kinojevis and Stoughton-Roquemaure Gps may occur within the PDFZ; and b) Stoughton-Roquemaure Gp volc. rxs are known to occur north of the PDFZ W of the occur. (Jensen and Baker 1986)Prest (1953) interp. felsic intrus. rxs to occur in the area while Jensen (1985) interp. these to be volc. rxs.

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - Stratigraphic diamond drilling by Hollinger Consolidated Gold Mines in 1941 yielded numerous narrow core sections which contained anomalously elevated (greater than 0.01 ounce of gold per ton) gold tenors. The best gold assays from this drilling are reported (assessment files, Resident Geologist's Office, Kirkland Lake) to have included: 0.31 ounce of gold per ton across a 2 foot core length of crudely bedded grey/green arkose or schistose 'greenstone' and 0.17 ounce of gold per ton across a 5 foot core length (within a core section averaging 0.07 ounce of gold per ton across a 15 foot core length) of basalt.
