Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: Proceed north from Duncan Ave in Kirkland Lake to Goodfish (Airport) Road for 11km to a 90 degree corner. A gravel road will appear, continue north keeping left for 3.9km. At 4.6km keep left until Melba Creek is reached. Stay on the main road for 2.4km past Melba Creek. Proceed on foot west through the bush for 1.6km to the adit. Adit cut into low outcrop. Not deep enough to keep the rain out.

1973-75: W. Cooper – pitting, trenching, stripping. 1988 – Melba Gold Limited – airborne geophysics.

Lithology Comments

May 30, 2016 (A Wilson) - A quartz-calcite vein 2.5 ft. wide and with blebs of chalcopyrite as large as 2 inches wide. The vein contains fragments of volcanic rock 1 inch in size and is near 2 miles north and 3 miles east of the southwestern corner of Melba Township. The vein strikes N70W and dips 85º south and can be traced less than 25 feet.

Mineralization Comments

May 30, 2016 (A Wilson) - The adit is approximately 90% coarsely crystalline calcite, 5% quartz, 3% angular brecciated volcanic rock and 2% chalcopyrite.
