Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - Largely glacial drift covered (Vagners 1984; McClenaghan et al. 1989, 1988, 1987; Steele 1988) weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic grade) basalt and/or andesitic tuff breccia of the (Archean) Stoughton-Roquemaure Group (Johnstone 1986, Jensen and Baker 1986, Gupta and Johnstone 1987, Johnstone and Steele 1989) in a section of diamond drill core is cemented by calcite and pyrite and is cut by pyritic quartz and quartz-carbonate veins. The best gold assays reported (assessment files, Resident Geologist's Office, Kirkland Lake) are from Kennco Exploration (Canada) drill hole no. M-13, which intersected 0.01 ounce of gold per ton across a 1 foot core length.
