Point Location Description: A diamond drill hole 3.00 km south and 3.80 km east of the northwest corner of Munro Twp.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
1949: Canadian Johns-Manville Co. Ltd. completed a geophysical survey of the area and diamond drilled three holes totalling 594 feet into serpentinized peridotite. This drilling is reported to have intersected fairly harsh chrysotile asbestos of poor grade (Hewitt and Satterly 1953). 1952: R.S. Potter diamond drilled 10 holes totalling 2,073 feet. Hole No.2 intersected Cu-Zn-Ag sulfide mineralization. 1953-1972: The property was acquired by Centre Hill Mines Ltd. for its base metal potential. Magnetometer and geological surveys and 110 diamond drill holes totalling 55,163 feet were completed. Following the drilling program, a 408 foot vertical shaft with stations at depths of 200 and 350 feet was sunk. Total production from the Potter Mine amounted to 477,572 tons of material averaging 1.63% copper, 1.5% of zinc, and accessory amounts of silver and gold (Coad 1976).
