Exploration History

1912: CanawWe Mines and Minerals carried out some trenching and stripping In the central portion of the property. 1949-1960: Canadian Johns Manvllle Ltd. held various parts of the property In the northwest portion of the claim group. The property was mapped, covered by ground magnetometer and electromagnetic surveys and several holes were drilled. 1952-1960: Mr. W.T. Stewart picked up a 4 dalm block south of Centre Creek in central Munro Township and discovered the Stewart showing. Stewart carried out a program involving prospecting, trenching and stripping followed by drilling. A number of holes, averaging 30 metres In depth, were completed and these encountered carbonate alteration, Intrusive porphyry units, quartz velning and mineralization. No assays were recorded. 1963: Peter Perch picked up part of the property covering the showing known as the Stewart Showing. The ground was tested by three drill holes. 1972: Surge Mines Ltd. carried out a mapping and prospecting program on a property covering the northwestern section of the Lalonde dalm group. 1974: Dr. Hugh Carlson staked a two claim block covering the Stewart showing and carried out a mapping and prospecting program. 1974-1975: Maclntyre Mines Ltd. carried out ground magnetometer and EM surveys on a section of the property near the southwest corner of the Lalonde block. 1979: Amax Minerals held a piece of the property which included the Stewart showing. This property was mapped and covered with ground magnetometer and EM surveys. 1985: Labrador Mining and Exploration Co. held a portion of the ground which presently makes up the eastern part of the Lalonde claim block. The property was gridded and covered with magnetometer and EM surveys. 1986: Loydex Resources Inc. picked up two blocks of ground in Munro Township. The west block covered the Loydex showing on the west part of the Lalonde claim group. The east block covered an area Immediately north of the Lalonde property. Loydex offered Canico an option on these blocks. The property was evaluated and field examined by Canico who concluded the property was of no further Interest at the time although some anomalous gold assays were returned from samples collected in strongly bleached mineralized basalts on the Loydex showing. Samples RX81501 and RX78398 assayed 1.18 and 1.37 g/t gold, respectively. 1986: The Bruneau Mining Corporation drilled on a 10 claim block located in the southeastern corner of the Lalonde group. 1986: Mr. D. Lalonde acquired most of the claims making up the group he holds today. Mr. Lalonde, In conjunction with Canamax Exploration, has carried out a program of trenching, grab and chip sampling and a Max-Min EM survey. Most of the work performed by Canamax was directed towards the Pipestone Fault in the extreme southern portion of the block. 1990-1991: Inco Exploration & Technical Services, Inc. completed ground magnetic and HLEM surveys, diamond drilled 8 holes totaling 1177 m and collected numerous grab samples for analysis. Grab samples for the C-Zone area ran up to 2.91 g/t Au, a chip sample ran 1.04 g/t Au over 1.00 m. The best assay from drilling ran 520 ppb Au over 0.63 m. 1995: Haddington Resources Limited completed an compilation and evealuation report. 2001: Lalonde completed trenching and sampling. One sample assayed 1320 g/t Au and another 3.81 g/t Au.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Meyer) - The 'C' Zone is a quartz stockwork in strongly carbonatized volcanic rock. The general trend of the quartz-vein stockwork is 062 and the dip of individual quartz veins ranges from shallow to steep. One quarts vein was observed to curve from near vertical to flat over a distance of 1 m. Individual veins are up to 50 cm thick. Subsequent diamond drilling determined a shallow dip for the stockwork to the southeast (Christian Dupont, personal communication, 2002). The vein system was exposed over a distance of about 30 m.
