Feb 11, 2016 (A Wilson) - The property is relatively well exposed. The underlying rocks consist of two ESE trending bands of rhyolite separated by pillowed basalts. Pillow facings are to the northeast. Some of the rhyolite exposure shows considerable sericitic alteration and was the object of artisanal trenching in the 1930's
Feb 11, 2016 (R Degagne) - Bedrock in the occurrence area consists mainly of east southeast striking, north facing and steeply dipping weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) ultramafic to felsic volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks and intercalated interflow sedimentary material of the (Archean) Stoughton-Roquemaure Group. Intrusive rocks in the area include narrow (tens of metres in width) north striking diabase dikes of the (Proterozoic) Matachewan swarm.

Feb 11, 2016 (A Wilson) - Hole 97-CLO-01 tested IP anomaly -01. The hole encountered felsic to intermediate massive volcanics flows; these locally showflow top breccias and host minor interstitial pyrite and pyrrhotite. Local intervals contain carbonate veinlets and up to1% pyrite. All gold values returned from this hole were below detection limit (5 ppb). 97-CLO-02: The hole encountered 150 feet of sericitized rhyolite in shear contact with massive intermediate volcanics. No significant amounts of sulfide were noted, although traces of chalcopyrite locally stand out in quartz veins in andesite. The highest gold value returned from this hole was 20 ppb, all the rest are below detection limit (5 ppb).
Feb 11, 2016 (R Degagne) - Satterly and Armstrong reported that negligible to low gold values were obtained by Clodan Gold Mines from drill core lengths of pyritic quartz stringers hosted by rhyolite. Maude Lake Gold Mines Ltd. diamond drilled 1 hole totalling 450 feet in 1984 to test this mineralization. Maude Lake intersected mafic to felsic volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks, a 2 foot thick graphitic horizon, quartz veins, and shears. Only sparse pyrite mineralization was noted in the Maude Lake drill logs to accompany the quartz stringers and no gold assay data were reported. A few hundred metres northeast of the drill hole testing the Clodan pyrite-quartz veins, Maude Lake diamond drilled 1 hole totalling 1,545 feet. This hole intersected a 1.5 foot section of massive milky white quartz vein material hosted by intermediate volcanic and volcaniclastic material which averaged 0.023 ounce of gold per ton.
