Lithology Comments

Apr 11, 2016 (A Wilson) - The Quaternary stratigraphy of drillhole 84-08 is simple, varved clays overlying glaciolacustrine and/or glaciofluvial sand, which grades downward into a thin sequence of interbedded till and sand on bedrock. Similar stratigraphy, representing a single glacial event, was encountered in adjacent drillholes 84-09, 84-10, and 84-11. The varved clays and portions of the sand unit were deposited in proglacial lakes Barlow and Ojibway. The till (19.8 to 21.8 m) was deposited as debris flows off the ice front into an environment of continuous glaciolacustrine-fluvial sand deposition. Field work associated with drilling has indicated that the ice depositing this till, informally termed the Matheson till, advanced toward 170º azimuth. This advance was the last to traverse the area.

Mineralization Comments

Apr 11, 2016 (A Wilson) - Gold values from the H fraction returned values ranging from 20-400 ppb Au. Gold values from the G and T fraction returned gold values of <20 ppb. A single abraded gold grain measuring 250 x 200 A was collected from the drill hole. One grain of galena also was collected from the sample.
