Location Method: Based on Assessment

Access Description: The site is located approximately 6.5 km west of Porquis Junction and approximately 15.5 km SW of Iroquois Falls. It can be accessed via a gravel road which runs along a portion of the Dundonald-McCart township boundary and then via a series of bush roads and trails.



Exploration History

1936: J. Rowlandson - test pitting, sampling. 1938: Erie Canadian Mines Ltd. - mapping, sampling. 1941: Aunor Gold Mines Ltd. - mapping, sampling (shaft to 25 ft by 1941). 1945-46: Landson Porcupine Mines Limited - channel sampling, 7 ddh (2949 ft). 1985-86: Angela Developments - airborne geophysics. 1988: Ebony Gold Mines Ltd. - ground geophysics, mapping, 2 ddh (1552.5 ft).

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence is described as consisting of a strong fault or shear zone interrupting a sequence of pillowed and massive basalt.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 14, 2018 (A Wilson) - Samples collected in 1938 from trenches returned values of 0.40 dwt over 1.2 ft; 2.40 dwt over 2.3 ft. Grab samples from trench returned 2.40 dwt and 2.00dwt. A grab sample of the hanging wall returned 1.60 dwt (T-188). The best assay returned from samples collected by Aunor in 1941 returned 0.06 oz/t Au (muck sample). Channel samples collected in 1945 returned the following values: $361.90 Au over 24 inches; $57.40 Au over 24 inches; $971.60 Over 16 inches. Assays from a single drill hole into showing #1 in 1941 returned intersections of $117.59 Au over 1 ft and $110.65 Au over 5 ft. Assays returned from drill holes completed in 1946 returned values up to 0.05 oz/t Au over 1 ft.
