Lithology Comments

Jun 22, 2013 (A Wilson) - The mafic metavolcanics are altered to green carbonates, rusty weathering carbonate and grey carbonate schist. All of the altered mafic metavolcanics have been intruded by vein quartz and siliceous aplite. Vein quartz stringers up to 2 ft in width have been noted in the core, but are more usually ¼ inch to 2 inches in width and make up 10-20% of the rock. Aplite is present as stringers and dikes up to 6 feet in width and also as an integral part of the rock.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 22, 2013 (A Wilson) - The sediments are fairly well mineralized. The mineralization is found in and adjacent to fractures and marginal to the pebbles in the conglomerate beds. The carbonatized metavolcanics also are mineralized. Mineralization occurs in minute sulphide veinlets marginal to the quartz and aplite but in some cases in fractures in the quartz aplite. The gold appears to be associated with disseminated sulphides and with the sulphide veinlets. A mineralized zone with a maximum width of 46 m was traced for 183 to 244 feet along strike. This zone strikes 75ºNE and dips to the south from 60-70º. Typical gold assays ranged from trace to 0.2 dwt over 4 feet.
