Lithology Comments

Nov 30, 2015 (A Wilson) - The deposit consists of multiple mineralized zones within mafic and ultramafic volcanic rocks between the ENE trending Destor-Porcupine Fault and a subparallel diabase dike within the fault zone. The fault zone here is up to 150 m wide and is represented by sinuous, bifurcating faults which dip moderately to steeply to the south. The Stoughton-Roquemaure Group consists of massive and pillowed mafic flows and minor peridotitic komatiite flows. The strata is intruded by felsic and mafic dikes. All rocks, with the exception of the dikes are moderately to strongly carbonatized and sericitized with local zones of silicification.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 30, 2015 (A Wilson) - The main ore zones mined include most of the N2 Zone and the West and East Zones. Gold mineralization in the N2 Zone was associated with carbonate alteration near an altered ultramafic body. In the East and West Zones, gold occurs as free grains in gray or green carbonate veins (quartz-carbonate-ankerite+/- green fuchsite veins) and breccia that is typical of the Timmins gold camp. The high-grade Central Zone was discovered in 1994. Underground drilling below the 1000 ft. level in 1994 intersected 0.517 oz./t over 47 ft., 0.629 oz./t Au over 30 ft. and 0.236 oz./t Au over 30 ft., inferring that the gold system continues at depth. Exploration by St Andrew has suggested that the Stock gold system is open at depth and along strike. Surface drill holes intersected 0.4 oz./t Au over 10 ft. and 0.71 oz./t Au over 17 ft. in two separate gold zones at a depth of 1100 feet west of the existing mine workings. Another surface drill hole intersected 0.21 oz./t Au over 17 feet, 500 feet below the mine workings.
