Lithology Comments

Dec 09, 2015 (A Wilson) - The middle glacial package consists solely of a lodgement till extending from 23.5 to 27.0 m. Texturally, this till is distinct from till intervals above or below it. The middle till is clay-rich, with greater than 15% clay and less than 45% sand in the matrix. The lower glacial package (27.0-34.8 m) consists of a complex sequence of interbedded silt, till, clay, and sand overlying sandy silt till on bedrock. The interbedded materials were deposited near the ice margin, in an environment with abundant flowing and ponded meltwater. The till directly overlying the bedrock (32.6-34.8 m) was deposited subglacially. probably by the melt-out process. Geochemical data indicate that all till encountered below 28.4 m is of similar provenance. The till intervals of the lower glacial package appear to have consistently more gold grains than tills of both overlying glacial packages. Field work associated with drilling has indicated that the ice depositing the tills of the upper, middle, and lower glacial packages advanced toward 170º, the southeast (150º) and 240º azimuth respectively.

Mineralization Comments
