1984-87: Glen Auden Resources and Adola Mining: DD, assays are reported. (The Northern Miner, August 11, 1986, January 5, 1987; The George Cross Newsletter, August 7, 1986; The Timmins Daily Press, August 20, 1986) to have diamond drilled on a 320 acre property in Taylor Township. This drilling is reported (The Northern Miner, January 5, 1987) to have intersected anomalous gold tenors (0.06 oz./t gold per ton from a 5 foot core section) within green carbonate.
Province: Superior
Subprovince: Abitibi
Terrane: Wawa-Abitibi
Belt: Abitibi
Tectonic Assemblage: Porcupine
Geological Age: Archean
Metamorphism Grade: Greenschist
Dec 07, 2015 (C Salo) - Geological mapping indicates bedrock in the area consists mainly of largely glacial drift covered weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) clastic sediments of the (Archean) Porcupine Group and volcanic rocks of the (Archean) Stoughton- Roquemaure Group. Rocks of both Groups strike east, dip steeply, and have developed along and/or have closely associated with their contact in central Taylor Township the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone (PDFZ). Intrusive rocks in the area include felsic bodies of complex geometry (as at the St. Andrew Goldfields Porphyry Zone Mine, located several hundred metres west of the Glen Auden Resources/Adola Mining property) which are often found within and/or are closely associated with the PDFZ, and narrow (tens of metres in width) north striking diabase dikes of the (Proterozoic) Matachewan swarm, which intrude both the PDFZ and the felsic rocks within and associated with it.
