Jan 23, 2014 (D Draper) - - Keewatin basalts contain pillowed and massive phases, and strike az. 070, dipping steeply to the south. Quartz veins are found in two zones of carbonatized basalt. The Beaumont shaft zone is intermittently exposed for 550 ft with a width of up to 100 ft. A second zone is located 420 ft south of the shaft and consists of altered volcanic rock carrying veinlets of quartz and pyrite

Jan 23, 2014 (D Draper) - Quartz stringers with small amounts of py and cpy make up 10% of the Beaumont shaft zone. Some visible gold was reported to have been obtained from a trench on the second, southern zone 420ft (128m) south of the main shaft. Two assays from Beaumont Gold Mines in 1926 (exact location unknown) were reported to have returned $26.24 and $37.72 Au. This is equivalent to 1.27 oz/t and 1.82 oz/t gold, using the average value for gold in 1926 of $20.67 /oz. Four grab samples from the property in 1936 assayed from 1.52 oz/tto 6.62 oz/t Au. The significant assays from Godden hole #2, collared a little east of the south shaft in 1940 and drilled north toward original shaft, ranged from $4.90 to $221.20 (0.14 oz/t to 6.32 oz/t per gold @ $35/oz in 1940). Grab samples from taken from various pits in the south zone in 1941 returned 0.14, 0.23, 0.29 and 0.42 oz/t Au. Surface grab (46) and channel (544 ft) sampling conducted by Hollinger in 1947 returned only a few results higher than nil, the best being 0.06 oz/t Au from outcrop west of the main shaft. Porcupine Joint Venture hole BM05-09 was collared ~215m south of the main shaft and drilled north. The 395 m hole intersected elevated gold values from both quartz veins and the predominant mafic metavolcanics, starting with 1.5 g/t over 0.9m @ 129.7m. Other significant assays: 2.9 g/t over 0.3m @ 186.3m; 3.6 g/t over 0.3m @ 240.7m; 19.5 g/t over 0.4m followed by 1.03 g/t over 1m @ 272m. The highest values from the hole came from a 8.7m wide quartz vein (mineralized with py, po, cpy and trace v.g.) within ultramafic metavolcanics encountered at 319.5m: 38.1 g/t, 15.7 g/t and 3.86 g/t Au, each sample taken over 0.5m. PJV followed up this hole with further drilling in 2006. Best results: 26.2 g/t over 1.4m and 28.6 g/t over 0.4m from hole BM06-03 collared near BM05-09; 2.32 g/t over 1m and 4.04 g/t over 0.6m from the lower portion of the extension of a 2004 hole collared approximately 150m due south of BM05-09.
