Location Method: AMIS Site Visit
Access Description: Travel north on the Kinross main road in South Porcupine 1.5 km to a bush road that heads west to a major transmission line. The site lies 200 m north of the bush road on the power line right of way.

Bannerman - discovery and trenching. 1910-1912: Scottish Ontario Gold Mining Company - shaft sunk to 90 ft with 1 level of underground workings. 1927-28: PNB Syndicate - open cut, pitting. 1928-33: Canusa Mining and Exploration Company Limited - shaft deepened to 320 ft, additional underground development. 1953-54: Banner Porcupine Mines Limited and Broulan Reef Mines - underground drifting from the Reef shaft to the Banner ground, 10 ddh (6074 ft). 1983: Newmont Exploration of Canada Ltd. - property acquisition

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence consisted of a quartz vein within pillowed and massive mafic metavolcanic flows that occasionally showed fragmental flow tops. At the 50 ft level in the mine, the quartz vein reportedly terminated against a flat fault and development work below the fault did not intersect more ore.

Jan 14, 2015 (A Wilson) - A grab sample collected from the shaft vein in 1938 returned an assay of $0.80 Au. A grab sample collected eastward along strike from the shaft returned an assay of $15.60 Au. A grab sample collected by Sylvanite Gold Mines Limited in 1938 returned an assay of $15.60.
