Lithology Comments

Dec 17, 2014 (A Wilson) - Mafic metavolcanic roks strike east and are truncated by Timiskaming conglomerate, argillite and greywacky. The quartz vein is described as being 200 ft in length with a northeast strike and a southeast dip. The width of the vein varies from 6 inches to 5 feet becoming narrower and breaking into a series of stringers on the south end.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 31, 2008 (D Draper) - Porcupine Joint Venture hole 18667, collared 300m east of shaft and bearing SE, returned an average grade of 0.028 opt Au over 18.8ft from 5 samples, including one assaying 0.043 opt Au over 2.8ft. Samples were from a mafic volcanic unit with minor py, po and asp. (T-5028)

Dec 17, 2014 (A Wilson) - Grab samples collected on the Hughes Porcupine site in 1932 returned values ranging from $0.40 Au from a grab of quartz from the open cut up to $31.00 Au from a grab of pyritic quartz from the open cut. Assays from Hugh-Pam driling in 1938 returned values ranging from $0.35 Au to $8.05 Au in the metasediments. The orebodies were considered to be a western extension of the Reef Mine Zone. Surface drilling indicated mineralization in the Timiskaming conglomerate for 1100 ft in length, 40 ft in width and averaging 0.12 oz/t Au.
