Jul 21, 2008 (D Draper) - Two locally tuffaceous and graphitic quartzite units contain south-dipping, quartz-carbonate-pyrite veins. These quartzite units were located by southerly (cross dip) drill holes, and were then tested by northerly (downdip) holes in order to intersect as many of the veins as possible. Hole SM-86-2, which was drilled to the south (cross dip), intersected 0.128 o.p.t. Au over 5ft in the southern quartzite. Two assays of 0.08 opt Au were also obtained. Hole SM-86-7, a north-trending (downdip) hole through the northern quartzite collared 260ft north of hole 2, returned gold values ranging from 0.019 opt over 9.5ft to 0.037 opt over 5ft. In 1995, hole SM-95-1, bearing 270 az., was collared 200ft due east of SM-86-2. It returned the following gold values: 0.041 opt from an argillaceous greywacke and 0.046 opt in a talc-chlorite schist. (T-2884)
