Feb 28, 2008 (A Wilson) - The shaft was sunk on a quartz vein hosted by a grey granite. The granite is cross cut by quartz porphyry dikes. The Lally vein strikes N5°W, parallel to but not adjacent to the quartz diabase dikes. The vein is exposed along the east side of the quartz porphyry. The vein has been traced for 150 feet, dips east (75-85°) and ranges in width from narrow stringers to 6 feet.
