Lithology Comments

Apr 16, 2009 (D Draper) - A wide, schisted porphyry dike cuts gabbro and Keewatin basalts; contains stringers and lenses of quartz. (AR Vol 40-3) A quartz vein up to 30 inches wide runs 60 ft through sheared qtz-porphyry. (Map P.840 marginal notes) Vein strikes 275 deg az, dips 90 degrees.

Mineralization Comments

Apr 17, 2009 (D Draper) - Both the quartz veins and porphyry dike are mineralized with pyrite and chalcopyrite. A quartz stringer containing visible gold was also reported. (AR Vol 40-3) A grab sample, taken in 1949, of the quartz vein returned 0.06 opt Au. (Map P.840 marginal notes) A wall rock sample (Hogg #5) returned 0.03 opt Au. (T-320) Laurion hole CB-07-05 was collared approximately 340m SE of the T. Jack occurrence. An assay of 599ppb Au was returned from a unit of gabbro mineralized with py, po and magnetite. (T-5702)
