Exploration History

1964: McIntyre Porcupine Mines conducted an AEM survey (T-826). 1976: Mattagami Lake Mines conducted mag and EM surveys. 1977: Mattagami Lake Mines carried out drilling (C-A-77-2 to 807 ft) (T-1767). 1988: Placer Dome Inc conducted mag and EM surveys, drilling to west of occurrence (T-3254).

Jun 02, 2006 (D Draper) - Drillhole (807ft, bearing grid north, dipping 50 deg) cut alternating zones of intermediate to felsic metavolcanics containing interbanded units of argillite, tuff and iron formation

Mineralization Comments

Jun 02, 2006 (D Draper) - Disseminated to semi-massive magnetite and pyrrhotite occur throughout the hole. At 399ft, a sample returned 21.3% Fe over 3 feet of 60% magnetite and disseminated po and py. A 1-foot band of chert and argillite in andesite metatuff at 462ft, mineralized with semi-massive po with py and cpy, assayed 2500 ppm Zn.
