Exploration History

1964: Canadian Javelin Ltd. – AEM, EM, Mag. 1964: Mespi Mines Inc. – AEM, AMag. 1965: Mercury-Chipman Company Ltd. – EM. 1971-1974 Newmont Mining Corp. of Can. Ltd. completed airborne and ground geophysical surveys on claims in Reid Tp. Diamond-drill hole HR-74-2 was drilled in late 1974. Newmont drilled at least 3 other holes in the immediate area that intersected different lithologies and that did not intersect occurrence-grade mineralization. 1972: Hollinger Mines Ltd. – AEM, AMag, EM, Mag. Newmont Mining Corp. – GL. 1974: Newmont Mining Corp. – EM. 1979: Gulf Minerals Canada Ltd. – OVD, Assays. 1980: Gulf Minerals Canada Ltd. – AEM, AMag. 2002: Falconbridge Ltd. – EM, Mag.

Geology Comments

Oct 09, 2014 (G Seim) - Diamond-drill hole HR-74-2 was drilled on Az. 180/-45 to a depth of 600 ft. The hole encountered 127 ft. of overburden before cutting andesite to 147 ft. 147- 187 ft. Amygdular dacite, 187 - 196 ft. Massive dacite, 196-200 ft. Gradational contact to massive silificfied rock, 200 - 205 ft. Massive silicified rock, 205-208 ft. Massive sulphides in silicified matrix of weakly graphitic argillite (70% py, 5% sp, 1%cp), 208 - 209 ft. Massive silicified rock, 209- 211 ft. Tuff, 211 -216.5 ft. Tuff and graphitic argilite, 216.5 - 221 ft. Volcanic breccia, 221 - 238 ft. Argilite, 238 - 243 ft. Tuff, 243 - 245 ft. Rhyolite breccia, 245 - 247 ft, Tuff, 247 - 566 ft. Rhyolite breccia and tuff, 566 - 600 ft. Andesite tuff and breccia. 600 ft. EOH.

Dec 07, 2005 (G Seim) - The interval from 205 ft. to 208 ft. returned assays of 0.27% Cu, 0.04% Pb, 1.76% Zn, 0.16 opt Ag, tr. Au. The interval from 211 ft. to 216.5 ft. returned assays of 0.17% Cu, tr. Pb, 0.88% Zn, 0.22 opt Ag, Nil Au.
