Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Sulphide mineralization is hosted at the contact between a pyroxenite and a sequence of intermediate flows. The intermediate flows are described as being brecciated. The pyroxenitee is described as silicified and sheared at the contact between the two rock types.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The peridotite sampled in 1948 reported returned consistent assays of 0.2% Ni. The sulphides occur i narrow stringers and patches up to 0.5 inches wide. Assays for both the copper and nickel were reported to be i n the 0.3% - 0.4% range. Grab samples collected in 1948 reportedly returned the following values: 1.84% Cu and 3.67% Ni; 6.62% Cu and 2.11% Ni; 0.40 oz/t Ag, 0.05 oz/t Pt, 0.15 oz/t Pd, 4.22% Cu, 2.46% Ni; 0.005 oz/t Au, 0.05 oz/t Ag, 0.03 oz/t Pt, 0.15 oz/t Pd; 1.04% Cu, 5.29% Ni; and 1.38% Cu and 2.32% Ni. Grab samples collected by Falconbridge in 1990 returned Pt values ranging from 40 ppb to 240 ppb. Pd values ranged from 42 ppb to 300 ppb. Grab samples collected by First Point returned anomalous Pt +Pd values >50 ppb. One sample returned 44ppb Pt and 113 ppb Pd. The most anomalous sample returned 175 ppb Pt and 391 ppb Pd over 2 m. Nickel values reached a high of 2295 ppm in the peridotite.
