Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Peridotite 1 Peridotite Host

Lithology Comments

Feb 15, 2019 (Sheree Hinz) - The mineralization consisted of a 30 cm vertical zone in the peridotite. Magnetite is the most abundant metallic mineral. It occurs finely disseminated throughout the serpentine. The mineralization is very fine-grained and it is impossible to separate the magnetite from the chromite.

Mineralization Comments

Feb 15, 2019 (Sheree Hinz) - A grab sample collected in 1914 returned 8.46% chromium metal (13.44% CrO), 14.58% FeO2, and 0.066 oz/t Pt. Microscopic diamonds also were recovered. Grab samples collected by Donaldson and Cochrane returned up to 12.9% CrO and 17% Fe. The serpentine forms fibers up to 1/32 inch. The best assay from the Cromarty drill hole returned 0.03% Cu over 4.6 ft.
