Point Location Description: Point plotted on OBM map from information contained in Assessment File T-681.
Location Method: Based on Assessment
Access Description: Access to the NW quadrant of Tully Twp is from the south where bush trails lead northwards from the end of the gravel road which ends at the Texmont Deposit. An alternate access is from the east where bush trails lead west from the end of the gravel road passing by Ice Chest Lake and Roy Lake.
Diamond drilling by Hollinger Mines Ltd. in 1970 resulted in DDH TU - 1 - 3 - 70 intersecting a gold-bearing zone which returned a weighted average grade of 0.075 oz/ton Au / 21.8 feet (220.0-241.8 ft, includes 0.4 oz/ton / 3.0 ft). The host rock is described as a Dacite which contains 3-5% leucoxene, suggesting it is actually a strongly ser-carb altered basalt. The gold values occur in a zone of quartz veining and brecciation containing 7-10% disseminated pyrite. Additional diamond drilling by Esso Minerals in 1987 intersected the following gold values: DDH TU87-1: 0.090 oz/ton Au / 9.0 ft (219-228 ft) and 0.040 oz/ton Au / 12.33 ft (243.67-256.0 ft); DDH TU87-2: 4.813 oz/ton Au / 1.0 feet (214.0 ft, poor core recovery, check assay: 5.396 oz/ton Au); DDH TU87-3: 0.054 oz/ton Au / 3.33ft (264.67-268.00 ft); and DDH TU87-4: 0.368 oz/ton Au / 1.0 ft (200.0 ft, poor core recovery). Hole TU87-1 was drilled to undercut the Hollinger DDH TU - 1 - 3 - 70 by some 40 feet, hole TU87-2 was drilled 100 feet west of the discovery hole, hole TU87-3 was drilled 100 feet east of the discovery hole, and hole TU87-4 was drilled 200 feet west of the discovery hole.
