Apr 23, 2014 (A Wilson) - The average peat depth for the bog is 248 cm. peat depths greater than 2 m cover almost 60% of the peatland and are uninterrupted by mineral islands or shallow areas less than 2 m. The majority of the peat is humified with an overall average dpth of 158 cm. The humified peat is normally covered with a thin layer of unhumified peat having an average thickness of 89 cm. The humification of the peat is relatively consistent.
Apr 23, 2014 (A Wilson) - The deposit has a total area of 1,215 ha and has a total volume of 25,625,000 cubic metres of peat. The total humified volume is 14,342,000 cubic metres of peat. the peatland has commercial potential, primarily for the extraction of humified fuel peat.
