Access Description: The prospect is located some 75km west-southwest of Timmins and access is possible via Highway 101, the Kenogaming and Penhorwood main haul roads to the vicinity of Steppe Lake. From this point the prospect is in an outcrop adjacent to the Nat River, a 1.5km traverse to the northwest.
1951 Asbestos was discovered by J.C. Bromley while prospecting in the vicinity of the Reeves Mine. 1951 The property was acquired by Johns Manville who started an exploration program in the following year. This exploration program continued for over twenty years consisted of geological mapping, magnetic, electromagnetic surveys and diamond drilling. Though this program was centred on the Reeves Mine outlying areas were also covered. This occurrence outcrops and the mineralization was found by prospecting and drilling geological / geophysical targets. 1983-1984: MPH Consulting Limited – AEM, AMag. 2005: Golden Chalice Resources Inc. – AEM, AMag. 2007: Golden Chalice Resources Inc. – AEM, AMag. 2009: Golden Chalice Resources Inc. – Assays, GC.

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The prospect is located in a komatiite flow on the north limb of a fold. This flow is conformable with other Mg tholeiitic and calc-alkaline flows. Originally these ultramafics were divided into early and late ultramafic intrusives by Milne 1972 but the occurrence of compositionally controlled spinifex texture was noted in settings now regarded as characteristic of layered komatiitic flows.

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The outcrop is cut by small shear zones and minor asbestos fibre occurs. A hole undercutting the outcrop intersected 14m of asbestos fibre bearing serpentinite.
