Lithology Comments

Feb 25, 2016 (A Wilson) - The sulphides are hosted in a series of flattened pillowed andesitic to dacitic flows and felsic tuffs with local chloritic alteration. These rocks and the mineralization have been intruded by amphibolitic mafic and orbicular basaltic dykes. A structurally disrupted banded iron formation overlies the mineralization. The BIF consists of finely laminated lean magnetite and chert together with thicker massive pyrite or pyrite and brecciated chert horizons and some arenite horizons. Underlying the BIF are felsic to intermediate tuffs with rare flattened lapilli and transposed bedding.

Mineralization Comments

Feb 25, 2016 (A Wilson) - Sphalerite with trace chalcopyrite and pyrite occurs in thin, remobilized veinlets of massive sphalerite up to 5 mm thick forming up to 2-3% of the mineralization. Sphalerite also occurs as coarse disseminated grains in the quartz veins. Values up to 0.9% Zn, 0.1% Cu and 11 g/t Ag were reported from selected grab samples. Grab samples from along the zone indicate values up to 10% Zn and may average about 4% Zn over the width of the mineralized zone.
