Exploration History

1964 The Keevil Mining Group Ltd. held 32 contiguous claims in the west corner of Muskego and Keith Townships and the southeastern corner of Foleyet Township. Keevil Mining conducted a magnetic and electromagnetic survey over the property as well as a geologic mapping program. 1965 Keevil Mining Group Ltd. drilled two holes into two separate conductors outlined in their previous geophysical survey. 1971 Noranda Exploration conducted an electromagnetic and magnetic survey over an area which included the occurrence. The survey revealed several conductors of varying strength. 1982 Geosearch Consultants Ltd. conducted an electromagnetic and magnetic survey over the claim group for Dome Exploration. 1983 Dome Exploration conducted a follow up drill program to test previously outlined geophysical targets in the area of the southern Muskego boundary and the northern portion of Keith Township. 1987 Aerodat Limited flew a combined helicopter airborne magnetic and VLF-EM survey for B.P. Resources over Muskego and Slate Rock Lakes area. 1991 Falconbridge Exploration conducts a ground electromagnetic and magnetic survey in an area to the west of Slate Rock Lake in northern Keith Township. 2010: Zinccorp Resources Inc. – EM, Lc, Mag

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Anomalous gold value reported in a drill log at a vertical depth of 146'. Log describes unit as a calc-alkaline andesite flow; medium green, fine grained, hardness 3-1/2, criss crossed by carbonate and quartz carbonate stringers, minor thicker bands of extensive carbonate impregnation, moderately chloritized..., massive with minor flow bands, 3-5% carbonate stringers, minor flow bands usually have moderate chloritization and thicker carbonate stringers. The anomalous gold value occurs in a section of 60% quartz carbonate (calcite) impregnation.
