Exploration History

1972 Dome Exploration carried out a diamond drill program following an airborne geophysical survey. A second phase of drilling was carried out in the subsequent year during which the present intersection was obtained. 1980 Domex resumed their exploration program with a ground magnetic survey followed with limited diamond drilling. 1987 A joint venture exploration program was carried out in the general area by Marshall Minerals, Gail Resources and Gold Vessel Resources. This work consisted of airborne geophysical surveys, mapping, stripping and diamond drilling directed towards the search for gold. 2003: George Ross, Fred Ross and Garry Windsor – Assays, Beep, Pr, Samp, Tr. 2006: Amador Gold Corp. – EM, Mag. 2008: Amador Gold Corp. – EM, Lc, Mag. Geology Comments

Mar 19, 2015 (A Wilson) - Sulphide iron formations were explored by Dome Exploration between 1972-1973. The highest grade of mineralization was encountered within a base metal-enriched sulphide iron formation striking ENE, west of the Groundhog River. The iron formation is intercalated with mafic and ultramafic rocks and consists of banded, recrystallized chert and graphitic argillite with sulphide-rich sections containing layers of massive to disseminated sulphides.

Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Peridotite 1 Peridotite Spinifex Host
Claystone 2 Argillite Graphitic Near
Mafic lava flow-unsubdivided 3 Near

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The mineralization is hosted in a sequence of mafic and ultramafic volcanic flows together with some intercalated graphitic argillites. The mafic volcanic rocks have chloritic and carbonate alteration and are sheared / foliated. The ultramafic flows are altered with serpentine, chlorite and talc.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The base metal values are associated 2 to 5% pyrite concentrations plus some pyrrhotite in the ultramafic metavolcanics. Trace amounts of chalcopyrite were noted in the adjacent argillites.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The best assays from this drill hole are 0.24% Cu and 0.112% Ni over 10.5 ft.
