Mineralization Comments

Apr 07, 2015 (P Bousquet) - The mineralization in hole M.O.-11 seems to be connected with a feldspar porphyry or its dykes penetrating the host rocks. Weak amounts of fine pyrite (1-2%) accompany the dykes. The highest grade encountered in the hole is 0.037 oz. /t gold over 1.41 m in pyritized diorite between feldspar porphyry dykes (T-2717).

Site Visit Information

Date: Jun 11, 1986

Geologist: J Ireland

Notes: The writer visited the property, accompanied by Brian Polk, Mr Dave Gamble, geologist with B.P. Selco, and Mr Dave Meunier owner of the property. The writer and company examined the shoreline geology on Slaterock Lake. Much of the northeast shoreline exposure is highly sheared and extensively carbonatized, narrow quartz-carbonate veins were observed at one location just north of the narrows. A second extensively sheared and carbonatized shear was observed on the east side of the narrows. Along the southwest shore, sheared, pyritic, carbonatized, felsic, porphyritic, intrusive rocks were examined and sampled. Following the lakeshore traverse, the company traversed the CNR tracks from Slaterock Lake to Keith Lake. A series of deformed, pelitic metasediments are exposed north of Slaterock Lake. Several cherty looking quartz veins were observed, some containing pyrite. East of the narrows the rocks are extensively sheared and carbonatized and both sedimentary and volcanic rocks have been affected. Mineralized (1-5% pyrite) quartz carbonate veins were noted in several places. [ PRECIS ]
