Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing is hosted in a sericite, iron-carbonate schist probably derived from intermediate to felsic metavolcanics. Within this schist there are a number of small boudinaged quartz veins. These boudins have a variable orientation and are locally foled. They may be related to a structural even predating the dominant schistosity on the outcrop.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The outcrop is sheared along an east-west trend which is interpreted to be part of the Joburke Deformation Zone.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Sulphides are rare in the quartz veins. Typically the veins contain disseminated coarse iron carbonate grains together with high concentrations of sericite and chlorite in distinct seams along the margins.

Notes: The stripping is about 10 m wide by 100 m long. The rock consists of felsic to intermediate tuff, beige in appearance. The presence of sericite and quartz is notable. Quartz-feldspar veins are present, and are are 1-5 cm think and 1 m long maximum, boudinaged. The texture of the overall rock reminds of a mail pattern, and mild ankeritization is present on the east side of the outcrop. Drillhole collars (3) are visible on the stripping. To the south west, a sharp contact between mafic rocks with felsic to intermediate rocks is present. The mafic rock is soft and can be scratched with a fingernail.
