Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The quartz veining consists of a number of irregular discontinous, parallel veins hosted in mafic metavolcanic rocks adjacent to a set of felsic dikes. The mafic metavolcanics consist of a series of tuffs, pillows and massive flows probably of iron tholeiitic variety. These rocks have been variably sheared, particularly in the tuffs which show some evidence of folding. To the south east there is a medium-grained intrusive which could be considered a diorite.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Within the quartz vein there are some thin, zoned, iron carbonate veins with chlorite and muscovite concentrations along the boundaries.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 23, 2015 (A Wilson) - Pyrite is sparsely disseminated in the quartz vein and where it occurs it is typically adjacent to, or within chloritic rich selvages or mafic xenoliths. The most conspicuous pyrite mineralization present occurs adjacent to the veins in the mafic metavolcanics. Chalcopyrite and molybdenite have been reported at this occurrence.
