Apr 07, 2015 (A Wilson) - At the north end of the outcrop the rocks consist of dacites that have been hydraulically brecciated. South of these dacites is the upper iron formation horizon. Between the northern and middle iron formation is a rock which may be either a conglomerate or a diatreme fragmental with possible flow banding. Between the middle and southern iron formation is a sheared and carbonate altered mafic metavolcanic flow. South of the southern iron formation there is an altered rhyolite or basalt. The iron formation at the exposure is highly deformed. The deformation consists of isoclinal folding, and boudinaged folds. Within the adjacent metavolcanics there are numerous anastomosing shear zones and local hydraulic brecciation.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The iron formation is dominated by thin chert horizons, there are some thin, massive pyrrhotite horizons and black argillaceous horizons. Within the iron formations there are subparallel irregular quartz veins up to 2 m in thickness. Below the iron formation the drill hole intersected a fine-grained, dark green massive rock locally altered to talc. This unit was interpreted to be peridotite.

Apr 07, 2015 (A Wilson) - The sulphide bands consist of very coarse grained semi-massive pyrrhotite or more commonly 5 to 10% disseminated pyrrhotite within argillaceous metasediments. Locally chalcopyrite occurs together with the disseminated pyrrhotite and some specks of molybdenite have been reported. The best assays reported from this site are 0.37% Cu and 0.05% Zn over 6.6 ft. A 14.5 ft long section of peridotitic drill core returned an assay of 0.123% Ni (Hole 48-1, T-249).

Notes: The well exposed outcrop shows a sheared brecciated iron formation with chert. The breccia surrounds a fine-grained-mafic-intermediate metavolcanic rock which does not show any sulphides in it as opposed to the iron formation. It does show some boudinaged quartz in it, but not that many instances. The schistosity shows a 258 degrees north trend, sub vertical.
