Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Ironstone-unsubdivided 1 Banded Iron Formation Host
Gneiss-Unsubdivided 2 Hornblende Adjacent
Sandstone 3 Arenite Adjacent
Terrigenous-Clastic-Unsubdivided 4 Wacke Adjacent

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Mineralization occurs in a banded iron formation within a sedimentary sequence metamorphosed to amphibolite facies. In an outcrop on the highway at the township line, there are interbedded quartz arenite and wacke horizons over 3 m thick with fine scale bedding planes and abundant garnet, together with hornblende in the meta-wacke. On a contact between arenite and wacke a thin sulphide rich horizon occurs. This outcrop corresponds exactly to the sequence intersected in the drill hole.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Pyrrhotite occurs in seams, stringers and semi-massive patches forming 25% of the rock together with magnetite which forms 5-10% of the rock. There is some chalcopyrite reported. One assay returned values of 0.06% Cu, 0.12% Zn and 0.06g/t Ag over 10 ft. A grab sample of drill core enriched in pyrrhotite returned an assay of 0.13% Ni.
