Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Ironstone-unsubdivided 1 Host
Mafic lava flow-unsubdivided 2 Pillowed, Massive Near
Ultramafic Schist 3 Talc-Sericite Host

Lithology Comments

Jan 26, 2016 (A Wilson) - The area is underlain by pillowed and massive mafic flows, with quartz and feldspar crystal tuffs to the southeast and clastic metasediments to the northwest. Gabbro sills intrude the mafic flows. Banded chert-magnetite-chlorite iron formation explains most of the anomalies.
