Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Tonalite 1 Trondhjemite-Tonalite Contains
Vein 2 Quartz Host

Lithology Comments

Aug 27, 2014 (A Wilson) - The tonalites are predominantly massive and homogeneous and show a moderately well developed regional fabric striking NW and dipping steeply SW. The contact between the tonalites and the shear zone is sharp. The tonalites show an absence of alteration around the shear zone. The shear consists of altered tonalite, chlorite-sericite-schist and both massive white quartz veins and banded/deformed quartz veins. Unlike the veins that host mineralization at Renabie, the wall rock adjacent to the shear structure is massive and shows an absence of hydrothermal fluid-rock interaction. The Frontenac Vein strikes S75E and dips 75°S, is located in a shear zone.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 27, 2014 (A Wilson) - Grab samples collected by the Frontenac Exploration Co. Ltd. returned assays ranging from 0.01 oz/t Au to 10.15 oz/t Au.The main quartz zones occur as irregular lens shaped masses. Gold values are highly erratic with values ranging from trace to 35.24 g/t Au. Overall, the quartz returned low gold values with the higher values having a strong association with increased sulphide mineralization and folding. The average grade of samples is 0.5 g/t Au. Grab samples collected by Royex returned gold values up to 0.108 oz/t Au. The best assay returned from detailed channel sampling along the vein was 0.279 oz/t Au over 2.5 ft.
