Lithology Comments

Jul 14, 2014 (A Wilson) - - Macabie's drilling showed that the gold-bearing quartz veins are cut off by a diabase dike that runs parallel to the veins. The vein is hosted by a continuous 0.5 - 2.5 m wide shear zone within tonalitic rock and the vein strikes SSE. Both the vein and shear have several minor splays to them. The most highly sheared rock, which the vein commonly crosscuts, is composed of varying proportions of quartz, chlorite, biotite and sericite. Folded quartz stringers and small to large inclusions of variably deformed wallrock are common.
