Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Gneiss-Unsubdivided 1 Hornblende-Biotite Host

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Draper) - Quote: Hornblende-biotite gneiss, striking E-W, dipping 30N, carrying magnetite, pyrrhotite in conforming layers. A few thin quartz and pegmatite veinlets carry small sulfide concentrations. 4 main trenches expose about 20 ft. true width over 100 ft. length. Sharp A-3 profile over 650-foot x-section gave no anomaly-indicating narrow width. Open cut 600 ft. west showed a 2-ft. lamprophyre dyke carrying 10% magnetite in grains. [From AF T-3552].

Sep 29, 2014 (P Bousquet) - The lithology consists of massive pink granite lying in contact with metasedimentary gneiss to the south. Diabase and granite pegmatite intrude the area.
