Access Description: The property is accessible via highway 533 south of Hearst for approximately 10 km and then 110 km ESE via a series of forestry roads.



Exploration History

1926: Culbert and Peterson and Dubroy - stripping, trenching, 15 ft shaft sunk on SSM 4678. 1934: Neswoba Gold Mining Syndicate/Erie Canadian Mines Ltd. - 11 ddh (1493.3 ft). 1972: Glick Mining Syndicate - trenching, stripping. 1972-73: Metalhawk Mining Ltd. - geological report, ground geophysics. 1979: St. Joseph's Exploration Ltd. - ground geophysics. 1981: L. Armstrong - trenching. 1984-86: Falconbridge Limited - mapping, ground geophysics, geochemistry, trenching. 1988-90: Seaview Resources Ltd. - ground geophysics, prospecting.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing consists of 7 parallel quartz veins ranging in width from 1 inch to a few feet. The veins lie at the contact between hornblende schists lying to the north, and a granitic (tonalite?) intrusion on the south.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Diamond drilling completed by Erie Canadian in 1934 returned the following assays - $0.40 over 1.6 ft, $0.80 over 2.6 ft. Channel samples collected by G. Babcock in 1954 averaged about 0.85 oz/t Au over 3 ft and one sample ran 5 oz/t over 4 ft. Grab samples collected by Falconbridge in 1984 returned values >10 000 ppb Au., Grab samples collected by Seaview Resources in 1988 returned assays of 0.11 oz/t Au and 0.23 oz/t Au.
