Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The lithologies north of the Hawk Lake granite complex are variously sheared over a width of 750 to 1500 m. The north limit of the shear is the north contact of the main sedimentary unit and within 100 m f this contact towards the north. The south limit is marked by the supracrustal-granite contact.

Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Schist-Unsubdivided 1 Chlorite Host
Vein 2 Quartz-Carbonate Host

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Stripping has exposed a sequence of intense shearing. The chlorite schist and chlorite-sericite-ankerite schist are intruded by sheared quartz-feldspar porphyry dikes. The quartz veining has been extensively disrupted to form a quartz vein breccia.
