Access Description: The property is located a distance of 4400m west of the town of Goudreau (on the ACR railway line to Rowan Lake). A distance of approximately 523m is traversed by foot around the north side of Rowan Lake to the showing. The showing is 21m from the north shore of Rowan Lake.

Exploration History

The property was first discussed in 1921 where it was described as being owned by Messrs. Banville and Page. A six foot pit had been sunk on the vein at that time. 1984: Bonzano Exploration Ltd. - ground mag, EM, geochemical and geological surveys over the property; old shaft reportedly 15 feet deep. 1999: Patricia Mining Corp. - mapping, 2005: Pele Gold Corporation - stripping, sampling

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence lies within the western domain of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone. The GLDZ is composed of 85 to 115 degree striking brittle and brittle-ductile high-strain zones displaying dextral oblique-slip displacement. The vein lies within massive to pillowed mafic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks.

Lithology Comments

Nov 04, 2010 (A Wilson) - The property is underlain by massive and pillowed mafic metavolcanic rocks. Mafic lapilli tuff occurs locally on the property. Where the rocks are highly strained, they are schistose and carbonatized and chloritized. A small lens of carbonatized gabbro/diorite occurs north of Rowan Lake within the claim block. Foliated feldspar porphyry intrusions cross-cut the mafic metavolcanics. A 3 m wide breccia zone occurs to the east end of the deformed and altered area. This complex zone is characterized by brecciated Fe-carbonate veins, quartz veins and well-foliated mafic metavolcanic host rock. The entire zone is highly chloritized, carbonatized and sericitized.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 04, 2010 (A Wilson) - Visible gold has been reported along with specks of chalcopyrite. The best assay results from channel sampling near the old shaft/pit returned values between 0.002 and 0.025 oz/t Au. Grab samples collected by Patricia in 1999 returned values of 1.27 g/t Au and 18.8 g/t Au from carbonate altered, fine-grained, Grab samples collected by Pele Gold Corporation in 2005 returned values ranging from 0.01 g/t Au up to 128.71 g/t Au. A composite grab sample returned 98 g/t Au from a narrow quartz vein containing pyrite.

Notes: Rusty, contorted iron-carbonate veins intrude the mafic host rocks parallel to foliation. On average, the veining is on the centimeter scale. The veins may contain up to 15% pyrite + chalcopyrite with minor magnetite. Locally, malachite was observed along foliation planes where a carbonate vein intruded a sericite schist. Quartz veins are common, they are generally irregular in shape varying from stringer to veins up to 50 cm in width. Although most veins are vertical, several flat-lying veins were located. Mineralization within the quartz veins consists of up to 5% pyrite and chalcopyrite. Tourmaline occurs locally within the quartz veins. Magnetite veins are associated with the quartz
