Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The Ego deposit lies within the western domain of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone, which is comprised of 85 to 115 degree striking brittle and brittle-ductile high-strain zones displaying dextral oblique-slip displacement. The occurrence is hosted within mafic to intermediate metavolcanics of the third volcanic cycle in contact with the north side of the Gutcher Lake Stock. The mineralization lies within the thermal metamorphic aureole of the Gutcher Lake Stock.

Lithology Comments

Nov 04, 2010 (A Wilson) - The prospect consists of a variety of zones or showings within a complex variety of host rocks. Felsic metavolcanic rocks have been classified as rhyolitic lenses with quartz-sericite schist margins. Interbedded felsic tuff and minor sedimentary units are common. Calcareous wackes, ironstone-chert metasediments and sedimentary breccias are also host to mineralization. The mineralized zones lie within strongly sheared and altered argillites and mafic metavolcanic rocks and adjacent to quartz-feldspar porphyry sills/dikes. The best mineralization is located on the north side of a large quartz-porphyry body located on the south side of a swarm of porphyries and consists of lenses of sulphidized iron formation, pyritic shear zones and quartz veining.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 04, 2010 (A Wilson) - Mineralization occurs in a number of zones and showings within the 25 claim group. At the W-8 zone, pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite occur in quantities up to 25% as disseminations and stringers in the metavolcanics up to 40 m from the portal. Beyond the 40 m, the metavolcanic schist contains up to 30% disseminated sulphides. Veins contain up to 60% sulphides. A grab sample from a trench in the W8 Zone returned an assay of 1.38 oz/t Au, 1.29 oz/t Ag and 10.2% Cu. The C Zone consists of steeply dipping quartz filled fractures containing up to 60% sulphides. The sulphides occur as bands and wisps parallel to schistosity within the metavolcanics. A grab sample from this zone returned values of 0.27 oz/t Au, 1.42 oz/t Ag and 2.28% Cu. The Southwest showing consists of chalcopyrite-filled fractures in iron formation. Copper assays from this showing ranged from -0.04 - 0.10%, gold assays ranged from trace to 0.005 oz/t, and silver assays ranged from 0.08 - 0.24 oz/t. Two unnamed showings lying between Mall Lake and the Murphy Mine site consist of pyrite and chalcopyrite filled fractures in quartz-feldspar porphyry. Assays from these showings returned 0.24 oz/t Au, 1.35 oz/t Ag and 6.5% Cu; 0.06 oz/t Au, 3.84 oz/t Ag and 17% Cu; and 0.01 oz/t Au, 0.22 oz/t Ag and 1.28% Cu.

Site Visit Information

Date: Sep 15, 2003

Geologist: A Wilson

Notes: There are at least 6 significant zones of gold/copper mineralization on the property: 4 are at the north margin of the Goudreau stock, 1 is internal to the stock and 1 is at the south margin of the stock. The best potential on the property remains with the known zone, consisting of the Main, West Main, South situated just north of the Gutcher Lake Stock. Although slightly offset both the Main and West Main may be continuous over a strike length of 1500 ft, and are roughly parallel to the shear zone. The South, W-8 and B-C zones are discordant to the primary direction of shearing within the fault zone. These zones appear to be fault-controlled, fracture filled sulphide deposits. Gold in the Main zone is associated with subvertical shear fractures at the contact of a subvolcanic porphyry.

Date: Feb 06, 2004

Geologist: A Wilson

Notes: Most of the gold mineralization at the property is hosted by two main zones the Main zone (West and East) and the B-C zone. Significant shearing, alteration and gold values also has been identified at the south zone and the Van Ingen Zone located to the east-southeast of the Main zone. The main zone west has been traced over total strike length of 1000 ft. The projected strike is ENE and dips moderately to steeply to the NW. The bulk of the Main Zone West mineralization lies to the north of the Gutcher Lake stock and within an area of strong shearing and alteration surrounding the intersection of the iron formation with the E-trending swam of QFP dikes/sills. Mineralization at the Main Zone East consists of a series of showings distributed over an area 600 ft long by 100-200 ft wide. The overall trend of the zone appears to be ESE. Mineralization of the B-C Zones is hosted by chloritized andesite and consists of two sub-parallel shear structures mineralized with sulphides in lenses and veins of quartz. The zones trend NW and dip sub-vertically.
